Mapsource:
- Add your own poi's (permanent) to mapsource (and the possibility to categorise them and make them visible) so you can use them when you create a route. also make them markeble for export to the device or a possibility to transform them to waypoint so they get send to the device with the route.
- Make it possible to delete/change poi's from the maps garmin releases to keep those up to date.
- Posibility to mark roads as closed (with day/time from-till), mark them as one way street, etc and remember those settings so when creating a new route those previous settings are available.

It would be nice to have the possibility to (automaticaly) save track logs on the device (on the memory that is used for mp3's) e.g. at the end of the day. That way you can save track logs without having to take a laptop on vacation.

For the Zumo: add the possibilty to make profiles. For example:

Profile1 = fastest time, bike, avoid highways,
Profile2 = shorter distance, car, avoid nothing
Profile3 = offroad

Please change the software on automotive GPSr so that a user has a choice to, for example Novice mode and Expert mode.
Novice mode gives you three directions for each turn just as it is now.
Expert mode gives you one direction for each turn.

In Holland/Europe the distance between turns can be very short and than the GPSr is constantly speaking directions, wich is in time very irritating

TomTom is expanding HD Traffic over Europe. With HD traffic it is possible to receive traffic information with GPRS. Tom tom has made it possible to receive the gprs information with a separated receiver. Will Garmin make it possible to receive HD traffic with a separated receiver for the Nuvi series.
Or otherwise make it possible to receive traffic information by GPRS.

Neem mij niet kwalijk dat ik niet in het Engels reageer, maar graag vraag ik uw aandacht voor het volgende:

De afgelopen tijd is er heel wat te doen geweest op dit forum omtrent het ongewild afroepen (door "Truus") en tonen (via Pop-up schermpjes / vlaggetjes) van tussenpunten op o.a. de 2610 (mijn GPS) en de Zumo. Een en ander werd, naar ik begreep, veroorzaakt door een "update" van MapSource.
Enkele specialisten op dit forum (Bart Roos, Franklin) hebben "tools" gemaakt om via een omweg de nadelen van deze "update" weer zo veel mogelijk te omzeilen (ponikiller, vlaggetjesverwijderaar). Tools die echter op zichzelf ook weer nadelen hebben.
Garmin is door forumleden benaderd met het verzoek om deze update ongedaan te maken of in ieder geval de gebruikers van MapSource een keuzemogelijkheid te bieden voor wat betreft het al dan niet laten afroepen en tonen van tussenpunten.
Wat dit laatste eventueel opgeleverd heeft, weet ik niet.
Uit de laatste berichten op dit forum maak ik in ieder geval op dat het gebruik van de "vlaggetjesverwijderaar" in ieder geval voor Zumo-gebruikers nog steeds noodzakelijk is. Wat op dit moment de stand van zaken voor 26xx-, 27xx- en 28xx-gebruikers precies is, kan ik op basis van het grote aantal verschillende draadjes over dit onderwerp helaas niet goed vaststellen.

Het bieden van een oplossing voor het ongewild afroepen en tonen van tussenpunten is wat mij betreft in ieder geval een onderwerp dat de 17e in het expertforum met Garmin in aan de orde zou moeten komen.
Het is dermate storend dat het mij als motorrijder zou kunnen weerhouden van de aanschaf van een nieuwe Zumo of ander Garminproduct met deze eigenschap.

Can the Streetpilot series be changed so that they can also handle tracks ?

In addition to my earlier answer the following:

* Track record on the 2610 is very mediocre. Only 2000 points can be held in memory and you need to have a labtop on travel to keep te records. Very annoying. Is it possible to build the following: Either the possibility to dump the trackrecord on a compactflash OR enlarging the trackrecord to at least 10000 points? Situation now is that if you drive more than 250 km (aprox 150 miles) on small roads the trackrecord is full and the first X km's disappear . Could be a minor update i presume.
* When having recalculation off Garmin always will recalculate when you drive for over 100 meters in the opposite direction. And when you're driving in groups that often happens. As a result you MUST stop and reactivate the route to actually follow the correct route again. This feature stops me from buying a Zumo (not just that alone, but also the feature to show just that information on display (Height, distance to following point, ETA, velocity, trip km's etc. etc. which you can show on the 26, 27, 28 in whatever way you want, and on the 2610 even with the map visible underneath it)
* I can't ask this enough and have never got answer to this from Garmin: When will you quit the calling of via-points! It's very annoying and perhaps even dangerous!!!! When Garmin calls a via point just 100 meters before a majore crossing and only then says to bear to the left or the right that's often too late and leads to dangerous situations if you do immediately what's being said, perhaps leading to accidents. I don't really know who (in the end) is responsible for these accidents.... Garmin or I...
So PLEASE stop calling these via points. Via points are just what they are called... points to drive by and NOT to stop by like Waypoints.

Zumo with TMC

When driving over a long distance, the Zumo recalculates an alternative route when there is a traffic jam. However, when the traffic jam is solved at the time you arrive on that part of the route, the Zumo does not recalculate automatically, but keeps the alternative route. Is it possible that the Zumo keeps the fastest route 'in mind' and looks to what happens with the traffic?
