A beta version of BaseCamp 3.2 is available (link below). Please read the following:

Warning

This is beta software, or an early peak at an incomplete product. We value your input, so we are providing this to you so that you can send us your comments and ideas. We have tested this beta version extensively, but that doesn't mean that there won't be bugs. Use at your own risk.

Notes

1. Please backup your existing data from BC 3.1 before running the beta.
2. The beta build requires you to allow Garmin to collect statistics on how you use BaseCamp to help us improve the application. This will be optional for the release of BaseCamp 3.2, but it is a required condition for using the beta.
3. Activity profiles are still a work in progress, in particular migrating existing routing options.
4. We have had intermittent success testing BirdsEye Select because of some oddities with the servers. Please let us know your experience.

1. Moved the various property tabs to a separate dialog
2. Added swapping the map and data list UI regions
3. Added activity profiles to allow easier changes between common routing configurations
4. Added geocache search integration with OpenCaching.com
5. Added photo sharing site upload (currently for Picasa)
6. Added track statistics that correspond to the selection in the track points list
7. Added additional statistics to the elevation profile
8. Added display of elevation profile when batch editing routes or tracks
9. Added heart rate and cadence to the track points list and elevation profile
10. Added route to track conversion
11. Added display mode for geocaches
12. Added the "Duplicate" menu item for most user data types
13. Added continuation of route/track drawing when switching between tools
14. Added route avoidance checkboxes to the route options (such as "Avoid U-turns")
15. Added a basic dialog for creating routes
16. Added draw order control for new BirdsEye Imagery that is downloaded
17. Added user selection of application language
18. Added option to restore the application to default settings
19. Added tips dialog when entering full screen mode
20. Added a keyboard shortcut to snap the map back to North up
21. Added file import/export support for the TCX file format.
22. Added file export support for tab-delimited and comma-delimited text
23. Added properties and create waypoint commands to the list of POIs that is displayed when hovering on the map
24. Added optional collection of analytics to help us improve the application
25. Added display of the detailed coverage region of card/device based maps
26. Added notification to user when updates are available for devices
27. Added receiving FIT course points and activity data from many fitness devices. These are converted into waypoints and tracks.
28. Changed geotagging photos from a track to add links to those photos in the track
29. Changed to not allow changing the location of geocaches when they are part of a route
30. Changed the divide tool to create a new waypoint or trackpoint at the division point
31. Fixed issue where we didn't always remove all waypoints created as part of a route

Dat gaan we eens proberen

Volgens deze versie van BaseCamp heb ik geen Birds Eye account (eindigd 16 juni) meer, morgen eens mailen naar Garmin.

Dus als je een BE account hebt, laat deze beta maar even voor wat het is.

Deze Beta is niet zo erg goed en er blijken wat misverstanden bij garmin zelf te zijn.


It only took me 5 minutes to realize this new version is a total piece of @$#%.

A call to Garmin has them reproducing the problem and totally perplexed. I say again, unless you love frustration do NOT download this version.

The support crew at Garmin has told me their guess is it's a beta for Mac and that this version has not yet been released for Windows. They had me roll back to 3.1.3 and everything works fine. They were pretty much clueless on the whole thing. I tried to explain that Mac software wouldn't install and work on a PC but they seem to think otherwise. Total cluster-f.

Het zal ook eens EEN keer goedgaan en als we afraden een beta te installeren op een Gps wordt er gevraagd waarom.

Deze beta staat inderdaad NIET op de Garmin-site (daar staat ie alleen voor de Mac). De link staat op het Garmin-forum. Als je op de link aan het begin van deze draad klikt lees je als eerst:

Bovenstaand lezend heb ik m'n twijfels bij het woord 'extensively'.
Maar tegelijk is "an early peak at an incomplete product" een uitstekende omschrijving.

Gelukkig wordt deze beta versie naast je andere BaseCamp geinstalleerd.

Op het garmin forum stond ook al een melding dat de birdseye subsciption niet meer werkte.
Ik heb er nog maar een bij gezet.

De conversie van route naar track werkt tot nu toe goed, alleen als je hem op de sd kaart wilt hebben dan moet je hem eerst naar de gps zelf sturen en dan verplaatsen.
Rechtstreeks naar de sd kaart zenden geeft een foutmelding.

Een route maken met de beta versie en OSM routable van Gorinchem naar Eindhoven lukte mij niet door twee punten aan te wijzen (kreeg een rechte lijn), had er toch een stuk of tien voor nodig.
In mapsource was het geen enkel probleem. (in basecamp 3.1.3 heb ik het nooit geprobeerd)

De beta versie start wel veel sneller op dan mijn 3.1.3 versie.
